Course Outlines

Executive Communication & Business English (B1–C1)

Audience: Professionals who use English at work
Format: Live on Zoom/Teams (1:1 or small group) • LMS for materials/assignments

8-Week Cohort (90 minutes/week + 60 minutes self-study)

Week 0 – Onboarding & Diagnostic (asynchronous)

Week 1 – Email Clarity & Tone
Structure (BLUF), tone ladders, templates (request, update, follow-up).
Deliverable: 3-email mini-portfolio.

Week 2 – Meetings & Executive Updates
Agenda language, summarizing, interrupting politely, action items.
Drill: 5-minute stand-up with timeboxed Q&A.

Week 3 – Presentations & Storytelling
Narrative arc, slide phrasing, signposting, audience hooks.
Deliverable: 6-slide lightning talk.

Week 4 – Pronunciation for Impact
Stress, chunking, intonation, pacing; reduce fillers.
KPI: intelligibility score & filler-rate reduction.

Week 5 – Negotiation & Difficult Conversations
Anchoring, options language, disagreeing diplomatically, boundary phrases.
Role-play: price/timeline negotiation.

Week 6 – Cross-Cultural Communication & Small Talk
High/low-context cues, email etiquette by region, rapport builders.
Task: 60-second “about us” client intro.

Week 7 – Reports, Proposals & Executive Summaries
Scannable structure, data-to-message, call-to-action phrasing.
Deliverable: 1-page exec summary.

Week 8 – Capstone & Performance Review
Capstone presentation + Q&A; individualized feedback; next-steps plan.
